Welcome to the Central Asia branch!
Welcome to the Thorn Tree's Central Asia branch. We hope you find plenty of useful information about travelling to Central Asia here. It is highly recommended that new users check out the Central Asia FAQ thread before posting a new thread as you may find many of the answers you seek there. It also contains helpful information about how to search the forum, advice for how to post your questions, and obsolete information was deleted as recently as July 2008! If you are a returning user or know the 'stans like the back of your hand, please help us keep the FAQ thread up-to-date by adding important information which is absent, or pointing out information which is no longer being represented accurately.
Choosing a country to post to:
When you make a post and choose a country from the drop down menu, your post will be added to that country but will also display in the general Central Asia branch. If your post covers more than one country, please only add it to the country it is mostly about, not to all the countries - it won't increase the number of replies you get and will mean your post will appear multiple times in the Central Asia branch.
Comments about Lonely Planet Guidebooks:
If you used an LP guidebook on your trip and want to share your take on things with other users, we'd be thrilled if you'd post your comments in our Guidebook Feedback branch. Just click on the link for the book you used and post your comments (links to both Central Asia titles can be found below). When our editors and authors update that guidebook we'll make sure they receive your feedback so it can be taken on board for the next edition. You can also forward your feedback directly to Lonely Planet's Talk2Us team here.

Keeping it travel-related:
We want to remind you that this forum is a place for travellers and travel enthusiasts to share tips, information, and their experiences about Central Asia. Though we understand and respect that many of our posters have strong political beliefs, we ask that you debate these in a more appropriate environment, like a political forum or even your real life! Needless to say, starting and/or continuing such arguments will not be appreciated by our moderation team.
And a final reminder that commercial advertising of any kind is a breach of our Website Terms.
Thanks so much for being a part of our community and enjoy your time on the Thorn Tree.
