weather estonia latvia lituania in august/sept

We are in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania the end of August, beginning of Sept. (the plan is to fly into Helsinki and visit my brother-in-law's parents for a few days, then boat to Tallin. We will have 16 days start to finish) I have been looking up weather and it said that in august it can be quite wet???????? Is there a big difference in tourism the first week of Sept?? (do prices drop at all??)

Thanks for any info/insight and advice!!

why use all those marks? a Q is very, very clear with just 1.
yes, it can rain, (will likely, if you stay long enough) and it will have sunshine and it will be in between.
most prices of thinhs U likely need are (like about anywhere) same year round: food, transport local, entry, etc.
what may be a little lower priced (but then, baltics are not that expensive to start with) are some of the ferries on NONpeak days/times.
CHEAP hostels etc also hardly differ, HIGHclass hotels may have more deals.
the most likely money saver is the flights tothere, if booked long enough.
most visitors are not faraway Ozzies etc, but local swedes/finns, who tend to come over for a quick weekend.

so you believe anything - on the news? on TV? in your guidebook? on this forum? good luck then - you'll need it!

for finland..post the same question beginning of august in the scandinavian forum.
right now one could only guess by looking into a crystal ball, no way to tell..it could be cold,it could be nearly 20c,like it was one year and sunny..

So sorry all those question marks offended your sensibilities. I was reading on a website that implied the end of summer saw more rain in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania than the beginning of sumer or even spring time. I just don't associate late summer with the rainy season and was just trying to see if this was the norm. Just one set of punctuation per sentence.

No... you can not just say, that it is TIPICALLY raining at the end of Aug and beginning of Sep In Latvia. It is not like that. Then why do Latvians have a saying - Golden Autumn (dry, sunny weather and colourful last leaves in trees)???
U might be lucky and have SUN all the days, if not sun, then just dry weather.
You might even get very warm weather - if it is going to be a crazy year again.
The craziness of weather noone can predict.

I doubt that travelling expenses will lower for first week of Sep.
Last year i was flying all year around the Europe, airlines kept high prices until some october (smth like that).

i was in latvia and estonia in sept last year and the weather was great-warm enough to wear a vest top in the day. i think i only had a 2 days rain in the 15 i spent there. the weather turned itself around very quickly when it had rained which was a bonus. just go prepared for all different types of weather and you will be fine. both countries have beautiful places to see regardless of the weather to be fair. after all a little rain doesnt hurt :o)

hint in estonia skip tartu, not a great deal going on there, well i didnt think so. most people seem to stop off here on route to tallinn.

enjoy it.

the weather in estonia is still nice. you can still wear shorts and jandals out....might need a jumper at night though.

tourist season prices will still be in effect in tallinn at begining of september, you can bet on that one.
