Cinema in Bangkok

Don't think that because a movie is advertised in the paper as being on at a cinema at certain times that it is so.
Sometimes, not only is it not on at the advertised times, it is not on at all!
TIT.

Went to a movie the other day, and it was FREEZING in the auditorium. Gonna have to start taking a blanket at this rate.

yes I saw that Lions for Lambs in a freezing MBK auditorium the other week. I always walk round to the theater first and check to see on the board, having been messed about by online and printed listings before.

Not sure about Thailand, but in Malaysia you can get special 'executive' or whatever waiter service in the plusher cinemas - food and drinks delivered to your seat, plus a blanket, for three times what the normal price is. I think blankets might be available in Thai cinemas as well, not sure.

Yep, in Thailand if you pay for air-condition in cinemas, they sure make you aware of it!
Same in buses;-)!

Callippo, yes there are the "executive" cinemas in Bangkok, with free drink and a blanket, no waiter service. Only twice the price.
Ordinarily, blankets not available, but never usually THAT cold!

You can also check movieseer.com for screenings, but yeah bring a jacket/blanket for the Eskimo-style aircon.

I usually pick a film up on DVD about a week after it reaches the Bangkok cinemas, sometimes even before, and watch it in my hotel room.

Travel. It broadens the mind and narrows the wallet.
