We are an English couple planning on 5 day (ish) trip to Nepali border taking in the sights including EBC on the way. Easy going and flexible re itiniery but looking to leave around the 28th / 29th Nov. Been to a couple of places today price seems to be around 4000RMB with accomodation, food and EBC extra.. We are in Lhasa now, if anyones interested then reply here!! (we have nothing booked as yet if you are in Lhasa and looking for people to make up the numbers on a trip you have booked then we could be interested)

Cheers

Hi Joe and Liz,
If you have not yet found travel companions, and have a few more days to spare.......
we fly in to Lhasa on Tuesday 27th, and will need a few days to acclimatise / sight see etc, but we are not great at just hanging out, so anticipate we will be looking for a jeep to Nepal 1st Dec. If you want to hook up and discuss, please suggest a meet on Tuesday pm.

Also, any info about how many working days we need to get the travel permit for EBC (and any other places en route where it's required) would be helpful.
Thanks
Sarah and Aaron

joe/liz/sarah/aaron,

we just arrived in beijing and will be coming to lhasa by high speed train. not sure how long it will take to get the permits but hope to be there on nov.30th plus/minus a day. we will be looking for trips out of lhasa and if you haven't already left, would love to book something with one/both of you. we have some loose ideas but no specific plans as of yet though in a couple day we'll know better.

if you could, please post what your plans are. at the least it would be educational for us and at best we may have a chance to travel it together. i do have an international phone if you have a phone or skype. the number is 372-59572854.

Hi

We have managed to find some people to share with and leave on the 28th. We arranged with banak shol FIT 4000, 4 nights 5 days with EBC (entrance fee is extra) they can arrange the permit in 1 working day. Seems to be the going rate at the minute but def check around.

Thanks for the replies anyway and enjoy your trip!

Hello Joe & Liz,

We are 3 dutch travelers, Thea, Carlos & our 4 year old son Dub(easy-going), and we want to leave Lhasa on wednesday 28/11 or thursday 29/11 to the Nepalese border. If you have not found any other people to share then we would like to meet you! We stay at the Yak hotel. Most of the time we have our breakfast round 10 o clock at the Snowland restaurant. At Snowland travel agency they charge you 4000 Yuan and they can arrange your permit in a day. So if you like we can go on wednesday.

Greetings,

Thea, Carlos & Dub
