Movies, etc. at MBK

Just got back from MBK... Every place that sells movies and computer software was closed... Did I miss the newsflash that the cops had busted all several dozen piraters at MBK? I was just there last Tuesday and all were alive and kicking.. What happened??

Have you tried the Pantip Plaza, Indra Square or Silom night market? Officially pirate copies in Thailand are illegal but Thais cannot afford full priced American copies so they exist. There are a few times when there are raids as in the redlight district but the police have been paid off and the people warned so everything is hidden when it happens and back to business as usual later. I have seen it happen in MBK before.

Yesterday, there was a segment on Thai TV news about pirates crackdowns.
Must have been the annual, pre-announced dog and pony show.
The show is probably over by now!
