Snakes blood

Hello everyone

Pretty sure most of you will think im an idiot for this post so im writing specificallty for the ones who dont. Hi how are you?
Right .. At the beginning of the beach (bet theres loadsa hardcore travellers sighing already) he drinks a shot of snakes blood remember? Also in Howard Marks autobiog he drinks a shot of bile taken from the pituitary gland of a snake. Does anyone know if:

a) This is in fact possible or is it just for the cameras?
b) What (if anything) it does? Any reason why they see fit to drink SB?
c) Anywhere where one might seek to find said shot of snakes blood?
d) Would this whole process be illegal?

Im not a nutter/vampire i promise i just like doing wierd things whilst in other countries which you cant do here in the world's centre. (Obviously you could hunt an adder/buy a snake from a shop in England but im sure youll agree its not the same!)

Ive never been to thailand before so if anyone has any advice or tips on wierd and wonderful things to do whilst there i would much appreciate it. Im talking about the sorts of things which you wouldnt find in a guidebook, the sort of things which take a bit of bottle to do and can often land you in a sticky situation .. capiche?

See you in the Bangkok Hilton no doubt!

All the best! x

The last thing I heard about drinking snake's blood is that it's said to increase verility. It's almost a spiritual experience I guess you'd say, food for the soul. But beyond that I really couldn't tell you.

The chinese will eat anything if they think it might help them get their peckers up. The more threatened the animal the better. Bear gall bladder, rhino horn, ground tiger bones, snakes blood etc etc etc. The real question is why do the chinese men have such limp dicks?

you can get it in Vietnam, I had te misfortune of being in a hostel with an overzealous owner who decided I'd love it if he killed a live snake in front of me, drained it's blood in to a glass and offered it...

There are many snake shops in Thailand where you can eat the soup, drink the bile and other stuff. It's not only the preserve of the Chinese, I worked for Koreans who had shops and sold to fellow countrymen. Also soi dogs are eaten at Korean restaurants if you are interested, purely for scientific purposes! If you look in the Thai alpahabet for the word 'ngu' which means snake, and memorize that letter (a bit like a hook and a long down stroke). In Phuket old town on the Thepkasrati Rd. is one such restaurant selling snake. They are fairly abundant. A snake costs around 1500B for fresh blood and the soup substantially lower.

Snake blood is a common virility tonic in Tiawan, where the snake is hung by its tail, beheaded, and the blood stripped out in a swift motion down the body. Then the customer may step into the back to choose among the lovelies on offer.
