Suggestion for a trip Laos-> Thailand

Hello,
We're planing a trip in january from Laos to Thailand. Any advices from someone who made a similar trip would be great (especialy about the transport).
Start from Luang Prabang > by boat on mékong > Pak Beng > Huang Xaï > thai frontier by bus (?)
> Chang Maï > train to Sukhothaï > back to Laos by bus to go to Vientiane > back again in Thailand to Nong Khaï > train to Ayuthaya and then Bangkok.
Thanks in advance for any advice !

???? I don't understand. Do you live in Laos? Why are you starting in Luang Prabang? Wouldn't it be easier to start in Vientiane?

if you really have to start in luang prabang it sounds ok so far. if you dont have to start in lp then there would be more reasonable iteneraries of course.

For some reasons, we dont have the choice but to start in luang prabang.
Actually, i'm wondering if the trip back to Laos and Vientiane is really worth it ?
What you guys think ?

I would not make a trip for Vientiane itself. Instead, I would hit a beach in southern Thailand.
