Snakes

Hello all,

Can you tell me where the best place to see sea snakes and land based snakes (in the wild) I went to Koh Pgan Nan and only saw a cobra and a small unidentified thing that was in our room.

I have never seen a sea snake before and would love to see some.

I saw a banded sea snake about 60cm long while snorkelling in a quiet area of Maya Bay (near the entrance away from the the 'beach")
Phi Phi Lei Island.
It was cool but quite scary at the same time.

~~~
I saw a nice sea snake on a snorkel trip out to Koh Ha near Koh Lanta...watched it swim to the surface and grab some air.
From what I've read, sea snake bites are extemely rare due to the small size of their mouths.
My friends tell me there are "many, many" snakes in the Isaan countryside. You might want to go to the King Cobra "village" north of Khon Kaen and ask them where they find their new "residents."
Heaps of banded sea snakes in Fiji...only have seen one or two in Malaysia and never one in Gulf of Thailand...oh wait, maybe once. Or it might have been a land snake swimming, looked more like a python. PLenty of green tree snakes on Pha Ngan, the occasional python or cobra.
There are loads of sea snakes in the Gulf, best place to see them is at Ang Thon National Marina Park, near Samui.
Have seen sea snakes on a regular base at Sail Rock, swimming at the surface.
PP has tons of nakes, there's even a well hidden 'snake cave', only for those who aren't easily scared by sea snakes.
