One month visa extension

Hi
I'm trying to get a one month visa extension for China. I'm from UK.
Guangzhou PSB told me I have to show them $100 for every day so USD3000 in cash before they will give in a one month visa extension. Is this the same in other cities? As i don't have this much money, I live on less than $200 a month so this seems a ridiculous amount of money.

Someone posted on this forum about something similar happening to them in another city. I'd recommend that you try in another city where the PSB won't be so anal.
Cheers!

Or just nip down to Hong Kong for the day and get a new visa from an agent.

Everything in moderation, even moderation.

Johnny's got a really good point there.

sure i can go to HK but this will cost me 5 times the price of an extension and 3 days,
Any ideas on which cities to try? Or Is this a new regulation everywhere?

You could easily do it in a day from Guangzhou, but fair point about the cost.

Everything in moderation, even moderation.

Where else are you going on your itinerary? How many days do you have left?
Cheers!

It has been reported many times on this forum that it is easier and faster to get an extension in a smaller city than in a big city. Try someplace within an hour or so of where you are currently.
