Shoes in china january

Ok,

This might seem like a dumb question but what sort of shoes would I need in China (Beijing/Qinghai) in January? Would hiking shoes be okay? It's just that I'm heading over to Nepal after and I don't want to have to lug around a pair of snow shoes that I'm only going to need for 3 weeks at most.

No need to bring snow shoes, if you already have hiking boots with a good grip.
Cheers!

Hiking boots will be fine. Just waterproof them if they are not already.

If there is no food, isn't that food for thought?
