Khao san rd accommodation

Is there anywhere either on khao san rd or near where you can stay somewhere a bit nicer than a budget guesthouse or other than Buddy lodge, Viengtai etc. Something around 3000-5000 baht per room per night (that sleeps two)???
I want to splurge a little last night but i'll still be going out on Khao san rd.
Thanx

Not sure what there is at that street for the price. I do know closer to or on the other side of the river you could find something nice.

Well here i am, what were your other 2 wishes?

I stayed in the New World Hotel (about five minutes walk from KSR)

I liked it but judging by the reviews on the Internet some people did not. It was clean and the staff were polite.

Thankyou all for your replies i've taken a look they all look quite nice, although a couple a little spooky............i'm thinking maybe arun but again not great reviews I might just stick to buddy i've got about 6 other people with me so i feel responsible for 'looking after them' accommodation wise.

Another option is Bhiman Inn about 10 minutes walk from KSR, a new place with decent (although small) rooms, aircon, sky TV, ensuite hot shower etc., swimming pool, breakfast included. About 1100 - 1300 baht per night. I stayed there for a couple of nights this year and thought it was a pretty decent place.

I stayed at the Buddy Lodge a week ago. Looks like the best place on KSR (but thats not saying much). $2000 Baht per night. Music from band was loud from 6-10pm one night but other than that its a decent clean midrange place.

If you want to spend 3000 Baht on a hotel for a night, and you want to go out on Khao san road. Why don't you take a taxi back to a nice hotel in a diiferent part of town?
