Sorry, you're too vague.
What are your sightseeing interests and preferences?
What's your expected daily budget? How many of you are there?
What time of year would you be travelling in?
I hope you already know that you'll need to have a double-entry China visa if you're going to Hong Kong in the middle; or you'll have to get a new China visa in Hong Kong.
Cheers!

Sorry, Ellyse, I'm a bit new to all of this. There are two of us travelling together and we will arrive in Shanghai about the 14th May from Japan. We will already have our double entry visa's sorted. I think our daily budget together is going to be about $60. As for things that we are interested in, a bit of everything, I basically like to eat my way around a country and my wife is a photographer. So far we have thought about:
Shanghai-Hangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau-Shennzhen-Guangxi, then up to Chengdu-Lhasa-Xian and across to Bejing.
We have only just started planning though and any must see/give a miss places would be really helpful.
Sorry if I am still a bit vague, thanks a lot for your reply

60 USD per day, or some other currency? Approximately 450 RMB/day for both of you.
Shanghai -- Xitang -- Hangzhou -- Huangshan & surrounding Hui-style vilages -- Wuyuan -- Shenzhen -- Hong Kong -- Guangzhou -- Yangshuo -- Chengdu -- Jiuzhaigou -- Xi'an -- Pingyao -- Datong -- Beijing.
Cheers!

#3, I didn't see Lhasa in that itinerary.
