Crown in Bangkok

My friend is staying in Soi Rambuttri and needs to get a crown on one of her teeth.

Can anyone recommend a good dentist nearby? What do you think this would cost?

When it comes to crowns, the major influence on cost is the metal used. Unless you know what metal will be used -- gold is the best, nickel/chrome the absolute worst -- you'll be comparing apples and oranges.

All in, the cost of dental work at the major Bangkok clinics isn't much different than the store-front clinics -- see the Dental Thread here for names.

Maybe 15,000 baht or so for a top-quality crown these days. Used to be cheaper.

dominic77 had some dental stuff done near there. He reported a good experience. Perhaps a search for his name and dentist might yield the name. I haven't got time to check it out at the moment. I use Easy Dent, but they area not in Banglamphu.

Yep I went to Banglumpoo Dental Clinic in July for a check-up, scale and polish etc. and was impressed with the thorough service. I'll be going back for another one in December. Turn left at the KSR end of Soi Rambuttri and it's about 100m along the road on the left hand side.

No idea what the cost would be for a crown, but you could try emailing them on banglumpoo_dental@yahoo.com . Or your friend could just call in for a price list and quotation.

there are now at least 4 different dentist palce tere/around the corner, never needed to use them, so dont know about quality, but various reports about them were all good. simply take 15 mins and walk around and ask, consultation/estimate is always free

so you believe anything - on the news? on TV? in your guidebook? on this forum? good luck then - you'll need it!
