Lijiang Itinerary

I need help planning my itinerary in Lijiang. I have a little over three days (I arrive at the Lijiang airport on Wed at 11 AM and leave Saturday at 7 PM). I was thinking the following:

Wed: Take a car from the airport directly to Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. Spend three or four hours on the mountain (is this enough time?). After that, I would like to see "Impression Lijiang." (Is this show worthwhile? When is it performed? How do I get more information?) Spend the night in Lijiang

Thurs-Fri: Spend 2 days hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge. See ethnic minority show Friday night in Lijiang.

Sat: Spend morning bicycling to local villages (4 to 5 hours). Spend early afternoon enjoying Lijiang and the Black Dragon Pool

I know this is a lot but there seems to be so much to see in my limited time here. Please let me know how you think my time is best spent.

Thank you!

Impressions Lijiang official website
On Friday night you should see the Naxi music concert compered partially by Xuan Ke.
Sounds ok to me.
Cheers!

Your itinerary sounds good to me, except that the lines at JDSM might prevent your three or four-hour trip. First, though, stash your bags somewhere because you do not want to drag them around JDSM. We went to the top on the cable car and waited forever, first to get the bus, then again when the bus left us off. They had 60-year-old cartoons on TVs to amuse everyone in line but I. We went on a partly cloudy day, and the clouds hitting the peaks made for interesting photography up at 14,000 feet, 4000+ meters. Yes, you will need cold weather clothes to stay a while and yes you will need a small oxygen container if you are going to climb around on the wooden steps at the top.

The Naxi music is excellent, but the narrator, as beloved as he may be, spends more time talking in Chinese than letting the Orchestra play. He will speak for 7 minutes straight in Chinese, then utter two English sentences with an attitude that he just translated his monologue. and then the orchestra will play for five minutes...you get the idea.

Yes, Baisha seems to have been overrun by tourists for Mr. Ho, "the most admired man" and also the Dongba pictograms/drawings (I bought several for pennies and had them framed for US$ hundreds). It still was cool.

Always looking for new adventures, new cultures, interesting geography.
