does overland to nepal cancel a multiple entry visa?

I'm in Tibet with a multiple entry chinese visa, and I've heard rumors... If I enter Nepal overland, will they cancel my chinese visa? I need to catch my flight home from Shanghai, so this is pretty important. I've tried searching the forums, but to no avail. Thanks, in advance.

I heard the same rumors.

They all say entering Tibet from Nepal requires a group visa which will cancel any other Chinese visa in your passport. But if I go from Tibet to Nepal and back into Tibet, can I still use my multi entry visa? or will i need to get a new group visa? I am also wondering. I want to make this trip next year.

If client enter Tibet from Nepal. They will have TTB permit and Tibet group tourist visa in paper. if client want to enter China then they can enter easily, But Tibet visa will be in group which means they must leave China together.

These are not rumors , it´s been a unchanging rock in Chinas policy for at least the last decade : no entry from Nepal in to Tibet on any kind of individual tourist visa , only on a group permit , and any individual visa is automatically scrapped at the Friendship bridge checkpoint. If the same applies on exiting thru Nepal .. I dunno.

I assume that you are not returning from Nepal through Tibet. It seems to me that reports are that when entering Tibet from Nepal is where any individual Chinese visa gets cancelled. I can't recall anyone reporting what happens when you leave through Nepal and then reenter China through some other point.

Hopefully you are aware that there are limited options for flights from Nepal or India to China.
