Chiang Mai to LP

Will be traveling in November. I'm a bit pressed for time so I'm thinking about skipping the whole bus-boat trip and just flying to LP. I'd appreciate advice and info on airlines and the cost of airfare, getting the visa at LP, good budget/mid-range accomodations and anything else that could be helpful. Cheers,

I suggest you read another posting which was made earlier today - here to avoid having people repeat themselves re. flights.
As for tourist visa, most western nationalities can get an instant visa on arrival for 30-something US dollars at the airport.

P.S. don't forget to bring a small passport-style photo for the Laos visa.

the boat is overrated. Thing is, you have to do it once to find that out.
