I just bought a ticket from Moscow to Beijing. #1 is correct in that it takes 6 days. I cannot believe that it costs €40! It cost me £250. (around $500US) If you get it for €40 - I would be very surprised....and pissed off!! I am taking a 2nd class 4-berth sleeper...

As I said people told me 40,- is the local price (for Mongolian, Russian ppl)

Btw do you have Russian visa? As far as I know you reallly need an invitation to enter Russia.

I recently received this information from a Chinese travel agency. It is the actual price if you could buy such a ticket yourself at the train station. Expect a markup of 10% or more through a travel agency or CITS.

May 2007
Beijing to Moscow
K3 departs only on Wednesdays 07:40 am and arrives in Moscow on Mondays at 14:12 local time
2142 RMB = 278 USD hard class
3108 RMB = 403 USD soft class
3628 RMB = 470 USD deluxe class

Tickets for foreigners for this train are ONLY available through travel agencies or CITS. You canNOT go to the train station and buy them. They are VERY rarely available at the last minute but you can try 3 days before departure for last minute tickets.

I am pretty sure that hard class for this train is a 4 person compartment and so is soft class. Deluxe class is a 2 person compartment.

Since I have taken the time to answer your question, it would be nice if you took the time to respond as to whether the information was helpful.

Aha! I think maybe I should have gone the hard class instead of soft class...

I got my Russian visa through realrussia.com..
