700.00 GBP = 45,146.80 THB / 56 days = 806 THB per day.

Well, that is possible, but it will be a little tight. Laos and Cambodia will be slightly less expensive, so I would plan on being there for more time. All of that traveling around is going to eat away at your budget. Especially since you are going to have to cover a lot of ground. I sure hope you don't like to drink too much. Either way, you will really have to watch your budget carefully. Usually, I would say 1000 baht is lowest figure, but there are reports from people who do it for less.

And the cost for Visas will take out a big junk of your budget.

Can be done but one bit of advice is to try and hook up with a travel buddy (guesthouse noticeboard) (travel companion sites) you would then be able to share costs on accomodation two nights for the price of one, street food, cheap buses, and you might have enough for a piss up in bangkok before you fly home.

I calculate that as 875 Thai Baht/day which is doable, but you'll need to pace your expenses. Same as the others have said.

8 weeks is not enough for all 4 countries. Vietnam need 3-4 weeks in itself. Cambodia and Laos 1.5-2 weeks each. On that budget, you will be taking buses, which means a full 7 days or more will be spent commuting between places. I would advise to cut out Vietnam. That way, you'll so save on the most expensive visa.

Rachel if there's a will there's a way!!!! Maybe save Vietnam and Cambodia for another trip?? Laos is super cheap when you're not in Luang Prabang and Vietiene. Just remember when you get off the tourist trail it'll be cheaper. I reckon you'd be able to do it as long as you don't go to that many countries. The more travelling around and the cost of visas will be eat a chunk out of your pocket.

806 Thai Baht per day is very doable. This works out at $25US per day - which was about my budget last time I went. Accomodation shouldn't be much more than 300Baht/night, food is dirt cheap..so all you have to worry about is transport and visas. If you love to drink and party - you will have to limit it to a few days per week.

Doable, if you don't drink so much and if you stay out of the super expensive metropolises and stay in the quieter towns. You should try to pick up the local eating places/habits asap, it will save you plenty in the more touristy areas. A bowl of soup will cost you 25 B on the street rather than 50 in a tourist restaurant. Look where the locals eat, always a good idea, even if you are not trying to save cash.

When I am on my bike I spend about 500 B a day, but that is going to some pretty untouristy places. I spend big in the larger cities/tourist traps.

Bottom line, it can be done with some care and willingness to go native (real native rather than tourist native), but you might have a better time with more cash.
