I agree with #1, don't change money in Australia, for example the rate quoted this morning by the CBA forex was just over 28 THB to the AUD, while Kasikorn Bank in Thailand was quoting 30+THB to the AUD and slightly higher for travellers cheques. My experience is that the money exchange booths operated by the various banks at the airport offer the same rate as the banks in the city.
