Ko Samet accomodation

I am planing to visit Ko samet with my wife, can someone suggest me something nice, clean, if is possible beachfront, not far away from the night scene. What is about eating on Ko Samet, are there any food stalls or vendors, or do i have to eat at my bungalow? THNX in advance.

Tubtim guesthouse, TubTim Beach. Nice & quiet w/ good food, and 10 minutes' walk to nitelife. There's all kinds of food on Samet.

You hurt my feelings...both of 'em!

I'll probably get shot down in flames for saying this, but as crazy as it sounds (remember, it is an island), I have NOT had good seafood on Ko Samet. I have found better seafood to be available in other beaches like Pattaya, Hua Hin etc. Even at Bahn Pe I have had better meals than I have had at Ko Samet.

For me, Samet is ok for a day trip. I'll drive down to Bangkok, spend the day there on the beach, and then drive back to Pattaya where there is good food and nightlife - and better hotels at much more reasonable prices than on Samet.

We stayed in a beach front bungalow at Pinapple Beach Resort and were one of only two couples at the whole resort just 4 weeks ago.

The staff were lovely, the food at their restaurant was wonderful and reasonably priced (although you did have to order the food the night before) and it was very quiet. Admitedly they don't have their own beach (ie it's on a rocky outcrop) and the beach that was close (1 minute walk) was pretty small however it was less than a 5 minute walk to the "other" side of the island where there was a lovely large sandy beach (the sand is so fine it's truly amazing) and a large selection of accomodation, bars, restaurants etc.

As for the seafood some of it was excellent and some was only OK but there are heaps to choose from so just walk along the beachfront and choose for yourself.

We thought Koh Samet was exactly what we wanted, yes it's not quite a beautiful as the southern beaches like Koh Jum but still lovely and so convenient to Bangkok.

Is there anywhere on that island you can eat in comfort on the beach without being constantly bothered by stray dogs?

the night scene.

Drink, eat, watch VDOs. Is there more to the Samet night scene?

I've had good seafood meals at Ao Phrao and Silver Sands - Phrao's more upmarket - Silver Sands - festive and relaxing
