I personally love Ko Chang--but then that is the only one I have been to--I liked White Sands Beach Resort--some may say White sands is way too busy but this resort is the northernmost resort and it is beyond a restuarant that sticks out in the water so alot of people do not know it is there--very quiet and away from it all

I think you probably like Phi Phi like many others. Do a search.

Yim nit-noi.

Does the idea of an island with ONLY ONE RESORT sound good. Pristine and tranquil, beachside accomodation, great kayaking, snorkeling and climbing? Only one place like this in thailand. laoliang island. another option is ko yao noi in between phuket and krabi. nice and chill traditional island in an amazing location.

Yep, I only stay at budget places. From memory the dearest for a simple, sleep-2 bungalow with bathroom is Toh Koh and Paradise lost at around 500 - these are 07 high season prices - the cheapest was little Ko Chang Sawadee at 250 (O6 high season).

Keep Koh Jam (also called Koh Pu) in mind. The place is still not yet developed like mad, and you literrally have the beach to yourself at many times.

kohjumonline.com has all the various places to stay and photos...

one downside (at least I view it as one) is that most places don't have 24-hour electric, because the island doesn't have it and the only way to get it is to burn fuel in a generator.... most places will have electric from 5 or 6 pm to 11 or 12 pm... but never during other times.

Great place though, you can get there from Krabitown for something like 250 baht on the ferry and will jump off the back onto a longtail boat to get to the hotel... seriously, you arrive on the beach of your bungalow...

cool place, very quiet
