To get a train ticket from Chengdu to Lhasa

I ll be in Chengdu around mid of November, can we foreigners buy Chengdu to Lhasa train ticket from train station ? and if yes
Is It possible to get hard seat ticket in about 2-3 days before depature date ??

and if no what about travel agent ?? can i get it from them in about 2-3 days as well ? and how much would it be ?

Sometimes you can be lucky, but as you officially needs a permit to enter the train you might have to get a local chinese to buy the ticket.
Travelagencies can make prearrangements and sort out the permits. Contact Sims Cozy Guesthouse for help, www.gogosc.com, they are very reliable and experienced in dealing with Tibet travels.
