Where do you come from and how hot is 'tooo hot'? I have lived, traveled, cycled in April for 4 years in Thailand. I come from UK. Your question is a bit unanswerable as we don't know what your parameters are. Personally I don't mind the April heat and can be seen cycling 100 Km a day in it, others have trouble. If high humidity with heat isn't your bag then come in Nov - Feb. I would suggest that you may be more comfortable in the cooler months in Thailand because you are already a little concerned about the hot season. Temps regularly top 35C but the humidity is the killer for many.

Typically April is the hottest season in Thailand. April is the time of the year where the Water Festival (Songkran) is celebrated. But the weather can change any time these days.Wheresoever you go, go with your heart.

I often travel in March - early April - I like it because dry season is still around but there are fewer travellers - walk in eveywhere.

I like May - August myself! I like the rain! Things are a bit greener, and the rain cools things off. Thailand isn't so crowded. Things are cheaper. It is a nice time.

I was there last March/April...and am going back this March/April...both these months have been the hottest i have every experienced in Thailand ( bearable ), but the humidity is hard to stick...Definitely a lot less tourist's, as most have been during the high season ( December ), and the prices of hotels fall from March onwards.Posted By: VenessaP -- 28-Jan-2010 15:01
