WANTED: as many people as possible to cut down costs!!

Hi we are 2 rather poor backpackers heading into Mongolia after 6 months on the road...

We are looking to do some trips/ one big trip during our 3 weeks in Mongolia. We arrive on 2nd Oct on the train from Beijing, and will need a few days in UB before heading out. We are looking to either join a group, or be joined by others. We are pretty flexible: looking to do either 1 10-12 day trip or 2 smaller trips. We would like to see the Gobi (doesn't everyone!) and maybe Khovsgol , but would be open to further suggestions.

We are 2 20-something Brits and pretty unprepared for just HOW cold Mongolia WILL BE!!! - so any advise from you seasoned Mongolia travellers welcome (i.e. do tour companys supply equipment such as suitable sleeping bags and tents?? etc....)

Please email us at sjay84@hotmail.co.uk, or leave a reply here.

Thanks

Claire and Sophie

Hi there! We are three brits 20 something too!! we are arriving in mongolia Ulan bator on the 6th i think it is and we have seen some good hostels on the net that have been recommended

Check out Short Description of URL Content.

We havent been to Mongolia before and are on a budget too. You said about maybe doing 2 short trips we are looking to do a tour probably with manlai for 7 days that takes in the gobi and the sand dunes and other places with horse riding and camels too!!! and gers!! So if you wanted to hang about for a coiuple of days we could all poss go together as we were thinking the same thing. The trip on manlai's website includes all camping equipment and food i think. We have no sleeping bag or tents either!

Heya,

Im a 27yr old Aussie gal living in China and hoping to get to UB for a few weeks hols on around the 11th/12th. I have a shitty tent and a warm sleeping bag and was thinking about just winging it when I get there...but I could well be up for travelling in a jeep and sleeping in a decent tent with some brits in the Gobi. Im basically open to anything, but like you have limited funds and am not keen on the idea of super organised tours and staying in tourist gers. Still, seems like a driver makes sense considering time factor, so if you're still looking for peeps, send me a message.

Cheers!
