Amusement parks in Beijing or Tianjin

I am visiting friends in China next week and would like to visit one of their many amusement parks. Which one do you recommend? Is Beijing Amusement Park any good? And Beijing has at least one more amusement park, with a Metro stop of the same name.

Thanks!

P.S: I love roller coasters!

Beijing has a wild animal park on the way to Badaling. Here is some info on that park (with some photos) -- from my blog Beijing Wild Animal Park

G'day

I went to the Beijing Amusement Park and it was indeed - amusing.

It's a funny ol' place, it's basically rides, and that's it. The roller-coaster was good, but not great. They have The Claw, which was great fun, and a few other spinny crazy rides. There's some water rides. Like most amusement parks, you'll be lining up, but we had an excellent day there. I really liked it a lot.

It's not cheap, and you'll be the only Laowai there (that's assuming - seeing as though you're from the US), but if you have a day to kill and want to do something different, go for it.

We went there by taxi from Hutong. I can't remember how much - but it was really cheap.

Actually, there are three famous amusement parks in Beijing.

Beijing Amusement Park- you can go there by No.60 bus. It's just the name of the bus terminal.

Shi Jing Shan Amusement Park- you should take subway and get off at Gu Cheng Lu station.

Beijing Happy Valley- Take a taxi _

If you're looking for thrilling scary rides, don't come in with high expectations :)

Chaoyang Park also has a few rides but it's not officially an amusement park, plus you pay for each ride. A somewhat ridiculous amount too (like Y10-35 per ride)
