Tibet in November

hey all,

im planning a trip to tibet from china in november. whats the best way to get a visa and tibet travel permit?
any ideas on what the temp will be like at that time? should i bring my own sleeping bag?
im planning going to evest base camp as well. does anyone know if that is possible and how can it be done at this time of year.

Visa? Go to your nearest chinese embassy and apply for one!!
Permit? Use the search function and look at previous posts....plenty of agencies in Beijing and Chengdu that will sell you are ticket (plane or train) and a permit. it is possible to get in without a permit...but read previous posts re: this issue.

Own sleeping bag is a good idea in Nov. EBC is fine but cold in November

To enter Tibet you need a valid visa for China and a Tibet Trabvel Permeit. The TTB is usually purchased along with your plane/bus/train ticket. Probably the most straight forward way is to fly in from Chengdu, your hotel will arrange ticket and permit, expect to pay something around the RMB2000 mark. I travelled around Tibet around the time you mentioned, it is pretty cold especially at altitude. I didn' t take a sleeping bag, guesthouses and monasteries have plenty of blankets.
