Candlelight resort, Koh Samet end Sept

Hi all

Thinking of a 10 day trip to Koh Samet from end Sept-mid Oct before starting a year stay in Cambodia. Like the look of Candlelight Resort on Candlelight Beach, Koh Samet.

Have about 800 baht night for accomodation, which I know is bottom-end for Candlelight resort and will call them in the next few days to book but before I do, can anybody recommend anywhere else on Samet that:
- is on or close to beach, nice beach, not overcrowded
- Nice, clean, secure hut - not bothered about hot water or sporadic electricty, security a must as female travelling alone
- has good bar/restaurant
- isn't loud all night - am over the all night party/staying awake thing!

I could possibly go further from Bangkok (am well acquainted with Koh Phangan and Krabi / Koh Lanta but have a bit more luggage than usual so trying to keep travelling to a minimum). Also, what's the weather like on Samet at the mo?

Thanks in advance
S

TubTim guesthouse on Tubtim beach continues to get good reviews, and for less than 800 baht/nite. More like 600 or 700 depending on season. It's south of Ao Phai beach, and not near candlelight/vong.duan beach. It is quiet, but you can walk to Ao Phai if you want activity.

Weather: yesterday, beautiful. today: raining

You hurt my feelings...both of 'em!
