Hi all

I am travelling to China in Jan 08 from the uk, I wanted to get a multi entry tourist visa for 6 or even 12 months. Does anyone know if these are harder to get than the usual 1 month visa. Do i need to provide an itinary or proof of departure back to the uk. At the moment i just have a one way flight to hong kong but wanted to leave the return date open.

cheers

dan

Email these people and ask them.

The shortest sentence is "I am", the longest is "I do".

Hong Kong is the best place to get a visa. I as offered 3 month double entry or 6 month multi (NZ passport). There may be issues with US passport in respect to getting longer visas. Extensions are a formality at any PSB.

However, British passport holders do seem to be charged more in Hong Kong for a Chinese visa than in other places (for example Bangkok). Whether you can get the 6 month multi in Bangkok or the UK is another matter though.

Hi,
I arrived in Hong Kong on a one way ticket as I will be teaching in China for more than one year. When I went to the visa office the next morning to get my 6 month visa I came armed with a copy of my work contract, a printout of some of the emails with the school I would be working for, proof of funds and the expectation of being grilled. But they didn't look me in the eye nor did they ask one single question when I handed them the completed form and 500 Yuan. All they want is your money.
