Shenzhen Airport to Hong Kong Airport

Hello,

I am flying into Shenzhen Airport on one morning and will be flying out of Hong Kong Airport in the late afternoon, same day.

Any suggestions on how to do do this surface transfer? I understand that there is a ferry going right to the Hong Kong Airport, but where is the terminal on the P.R. of China side (how far from the Shenzhen Airport, and what are options for getting there)

Thank you, in advance, for any and all helpful responses.

We did very close to this in late July- Shenzhen to Kowloon - flew into Shenzhen on a morning flight and took a midday ferry to Kowloon, however whilst waiting for our ferry the departure before ours went to Hong Kong Airport .
see website below

however from 1 Aug it seems they have changed the Hong Kong arrival place to Macau Ferry Terminal and I can't see Hong Kong Airport as an option??

The ferry terminal at Shenzhen was only a 5 minute bus ride from the airport and the bus stop is just straight outside the airport door.

Alternatively there were a lot of help desks lined up on the arrivals level of Shenzhen airport for other combinations bus/train etc to Hong Kong and airport.

We bought our ferry ticket from the desk and it included the short bus ride to the ferry terminal.

If I were u, I would do it by coach - it's a big tourist coach with luggage space underneath. You can buy the bus ticket that goes to HKIA from any of the major hotels in Shenzhen - there is a published schedule of their departure times.

The coach takes you to the immigration on the Shenzhen side, you clear immigration via a queue that's marked "foreigners", then hop back onto the same bus. It's a little chaotic on the exit but just make sure you write down the license plate number of your coach and remember which agency you're with. They will have reps waiting to guide their customers to the right bus.

Once on it, you will go past a couple of stops (one of of them is HK Disneyland) before you end up in HKIA. The whole journey takes you around 2 hours, I think.

dragonnite - Why do it by coach when the ferry is direct and easy? There's a ferry desk right when you walk out of the Shenzhen airport - just get on the next one. The only reason to take a bus would be if the timing didn't work out - because there aren't that many ferries. Once you buy a ticket - you'll be directed onto a bus which will take you to the ferry terminal. It's much easier than a bus which is subject to the vageries of traffic - both in both cities and at the border.

Thanks for the replies so far. astroboy, does the ferry go all the way to the HKIA? The turbojet website leaves me a little confused in that regard. It would be great to do it though-- and probably more fun to go by ferry than by bus. As far as luggage-- two small backpacks, one per person.
