Raid on Japanese adult production in Thailand

Wednesday, Sep 12, 2007

BANGLAMUNG, Thailand — Investigators and police in the resort area of Banglamung arrested the cast and crew of a Japanese adult movie production on Sept. 6, who were filming in abandoned shacks on the beach, next to Tang-Kae Restaurant in Naklua, Chonburi.

Police allegedly noticed several Thai and Japanese people congregated outside the location and questioned them. As police investigated further they found a Thai male performer and Japanese female performer being filmed while having sex.

Members of the cast and crew were arrested and faced charges of producing pornography for commercial distribution and possible fines of up to $185 and/or three years in prison.

The director of the production, Takeshi Matsuo, was questioned and told police that he had been living in Thailand for more than 20 years. He told them also that he was hired by a company called S.O.D. to find locations, recruit performers and supervise production of an adult movie for 9,000 Thailand baht a day, or roughly $275 in U.S. dollars.

Matsuo hired three Thai male performers at the rate of $62 a day, while the rest of the cast and crew traveled from Japan for the production. Reportedly, the location of shacks on the beach was rented for little more than $1,500.

Wow, $185 is nothing, especially compared to 3 years in a hell hole!

Getting paid $62 a day to have sex with Japanese women. Now that's a good job!

Life's what you make it!

They have now been charged with prostitution. Not sure how filming a porno constitutes prostitution but there you go.

But as we all know there's no prostitution in Thailand.

It's quite comical how they are quick to pounce on small time operators like these yet massive sex-for-sale massage parlours and hotels remain in business and pimps and gangsters turned politicians like Chuwit continue to remain extremely popular to the Thai electorate.
They really are stuck so far up their own ar*es it beggars belief.

#5 - I am well aware of that. They have been charged with prostitution according to the media.

Pornography Filmakers Report Update

Pattaya City News reported on a serious case where Police Major Khunawut from Banglamung Police station headed a Police task force in the early hours of the morning on the 6th of September acting on information that unusual activity was taking place near the Jitapwan Temple Naklua.

They discovered 6 Japanese men / two Japanese women and 3 Thai men involved in making a pornographic movie in a shed area in Naklua.

All suspects were arrested and detained and a variety of film equipment was seized. They were taken to BPS were a variety of obscenity charges were laid against them.

The latest update on this story is that the matter has been now referred from the Pattaya Civil Court to the higher Pattaya Provincial Court after more detail regarding the circumstances was forth coming from Police and extra charges of prostitution have now been included in the warrants of arrest, and a determination could be made for deportation if the Provincial Court assesses the matter with this more detailed information.

All the arrested people have applied for bail through their solicitor which has been granted on some conditions but is pending a further court hearing soon.

The penalties for such a case can include 3 years jail / a 6000 Baht fine and possible deportation with a permanent blacklisting against their names as these matters are taken very seriously by Thailand Courts.

We’ll keep you updated as more information regarding this case becomes available.

Nah, that's only good for the thrill of the moment.

But seriously, this is a case of a low cost production, so no tea money for the boys in brown, and now they are prosecuted in full swing or so it seems.

The cops finding new customers to get some money out of? Maybe they were pissed off because they were not getting a kick back, as they did not know about it!
