Phi Phi Island Village – Is Construction Too Much?

I’m planning on going to Phi Phi Island Village resort mid August 2007. However, I have learned that there’s construction work going there now. Has anyone been there recently and experienced this? Is the construction work too much to the extent that it would ruin our stay there? Where is it exactly? What about the noise?

If it IS too much, what would you recommend as an alternative?

The Beachfront Studios are being constructed from May 2007 until Oct 2007. I understand that the actual construction has now been completed and it is only the furnishing and decorating type of stuff left to do, so I don't think it will have a huge effect on your stay. Of course until now this resort did not have any truly 'beachfront accomodation', so this will greatly add to the appeal of this very nice resort. A good alternative, and personally, my favorite, is the Holiday Inn, just a little way further round the coast.

Phi Phi Island Village is truly beautiful and luxurious - loved it. I went in April obviously before the construction began. I have a friend working there tho, so I'll try and ask him and come back to you if I remember...
