I,ve taken frequent internal flights in China,to be fair 80% punctual.I would say a 3 hour transfer time in the same airport is more than adequate,i would be confident with that situation.Kunming airport is well organised, baring the unknown you will be fine, take the 12.20pm flight

Unless they have plane mechanical problems, no difficulties at all in the timing. I have been in/out Kunming (last time was 7/20/07)about a dozen times to other Yunnan cities, and it is one of the best airports in China. Security is fast, fresh fruit for sale etc. The coffee, if you have a latte, is pricey near the gates.3
Thanks a lot for the information! Just to confirm that there's only 1 airport in Kunming which serves both internal and international flights right?5
We were recently stranded at the Kunming Airport for more than six hours due to weather conditions. The Kunming Airport has very poor drainage systems, so when it rains heavily, there are problems. This type of delay has been happening more in China recently. There was also a weather related delay flying from Beijing to Taiyuan.Posted By: VenessaP -- 28-Jan-2010 15:01
