to go by jeep from Lhasa to Nepal

From Lhasa over land to Nepals border

Dear travelers,

We, a dutch couple, are planning a overland trip from Lhasa to the Nepalese border. We arrive in Lhasa on July 27th and will try to arrange a jeep to the border of Nepal starting from Lhasa about July 30th. The initery is then to be set

As cost are per jeep & driver, we are looking for 2 more travelers to share the cost. The trip from Lhasa to Nepal border should take about 4-6 days.

Anyone who is interested, please let us know.

regards

Rik & Ria

Hi Rik, hi Ria,

My sister and I are planning to make the same trip though we don't know our exact timing. We hope to arrive in Tibet a week before you, but due to premit complications we may arrive later. We have a flight leaving Kathmandu back to China on August 6 and wanted to spend some time in Kathmandu Valley before departing so we will likely look to leave a few days earlier than you, but we are flexible. Definitely contact me if you are interested or I can let you know when we have more of an idea of our timing.

Take care,

Kevin

Hi Rik & Ria,

We are a couple, planning to arrive in Lhasa (by air) around the 26th of July. We plan to leave Lhasa around the 4th-5th of August.

As we understood, during the first 2-3 days you're supposed to get your body adjusted to rthe height/thin air ,etc. Therefore, we thought of doing the trip to the Everst Base Camp and back in 5 days (we saw people in the forum and elsewhere write about this kind of itinery).

If that suits you or sounds like it would (we are open to discussion, plan changes, etc.), let us know, as we thought of looking for another couple who would share the costs of the 4x4, driver, guide and all that, too.

Please reply here, and if our plans match, we can exchange e-mail addresses by Private Messasges here, and take it from there.

TC and good luck with your trip in any case,

E. & M.

Hi, I am arriving in Lhasa on the morning of July 28 and need to be out of China on or before August 6 -- which means (if I've calculated it right), I should begin a trip to Kathmandu on the 29th, 30th, or 31st. I am a well-traveled, easy-going American woman, would love to hear from you if you have space in your jeep.

Thanks,

Jen Mueller
