good beaches in September?

Planning a family trip and need ideas on beaches.

Here's the facts:

- 3-5 days on beach in beginning of September
- traveling w/ 21 yr old bro (very active) and 57 yr old father (poor shape, need hospital on island or relatively close - diabetic)
- Don't want hordes of tourists and 7-11's, nor tree-house bungalows. Something like Koh Lipe but easier to get to....
- Want white sand, clean beach, good/fun people and bars, massage
- If weather good, want snorkeling option

Also don't want to spend a long time in route - fly from Bankok to????

Please help with ideas - I know we'll be there during the rainy season but there has to be something out there....
