Vegetarian restaurants in Gunagzhou

Hello again
I was just wondering if anyone had any reccomendations for any good vegetarian restaurants in Guangzhou or any cool places to eat / visit, including cafe's / tea houses
Anything funky & modern or ancient & classical - or just plain a bit wacky........
Always appeals
Thanks guys
Lesley

There's a restaurant housed in a train carriage at the eastern end of Shamian Island... food was OK and at least it was unusual.

Look at this site by a TT member: Information for Vegetarians Travelling in China. It is generally quite difficult to find truly vegetarian food in China that serves Chinese food since lots of stocks and sauces uses fish products and the concept of true vegetarian is not understood well.

Since I have taken the time to answer your question, it would be nice if you took the time to respond as to whether the information was helpful.

you can eat meat in guangzhou without actually killing any animals. for example, if you order monkey paw, they'll serve you the paw, but they won't actually kill the monkey until another client comes and orders the head etc.
