I was planning on using LeoHostel, but apparently, richardwakefield booked a train ticket well in advance with them, and forwarded money via western union, and LeoHostel only bought the ticket when they arrived to pick it up. Defeats the purpose a bit, doesn't it? Guess, you just have to make sure they buy it in advance. For the permit, he recommended this as well: PERMIT - tibettour2001@vip.sina.com (email them, they're in Beijing - needed a very basic Lhasa tour.
