Visa Expires 4 days before I fly out

I'm staying in Shanghai for a month with a sixty day visa. My visa expires days before I fly out. I am flying out of Beijing. Can I get an extension? Does anyone know how this is done?

Ask the PSB (police). They will point you to the appropriate office that does visa extensions. It could take a few business days. Don't let it expire unless you want to pay some heavy fines.

If you haven't gotten an extension than you should be able to do so. The extension is good for 30-60 days and grants 30-60 days from the time you apply. This means that you should not apply at the beginning but towards the end. But don't wait until the last day as it can take several days in some places to get an extension.

Sometimes it is cheaper, quicker and easier to get an extension in a smaller town than in a big city. You might try using the search tool as there were a couple of posts about good places to get extensions within the last week or two.
