chinese visa application (dublin)

Hey

Filling in the Chinese visa application and it asks for a contact in China, which I don't have as we're travelling independently. have searched this thread and people seem to suggest either leaving it blank or filling in a hotels name. i'm fine with either but was wondering if anyone had done this through the Dublin Embassy and whether there were any problems. Also, does it have to be the same person handing it in as picking it up?
