I'm traveling alone so would idealy just like to get a train straight there, which is apparently easy?!
Does anyone know how to get to the train station from the airport?
any any idea how much this will it will cost to get there and the how much the train to ljubljana will be?
thanks in advance

4Dependent on the company Rijeka airport bus goes to the short distance (Autotrolej) or long distance bus station (Autotrans). If it's the latter, then the train station is more or less opposite. If it's the former, it's about 5 minutes walk up the road. Autotrolej buses depart just after the arrival of flights and take 30-45 minutes, and cost the kuna equivalent of €3. Autotrans buses leave at 0730, 0845, 1835, and 2000, and take 30 minutes.
The train will

6thanks very much for all of the help! I think I have found a train there, leaving Rijeka at 18:25, going via Sapjane and Pivka arriving in Ljubljana at about 21.43.
Anyone know if this is a good option, I'd rather train than bus as I need to get to ljubljana quickly as I only have 10 days in Croatia/ Slovenia and am going to work my way back down to Rijeka to fly back!
seeing as I it looks like I might be in Rijeka for the day anyone know of any nice places to go/eat, where I can hopfuly meet other tourists?
Also how widley spoken is English in Croatia, being a lone woman I'm feeling very nervous, is there anywhere I need to avoid/ any tips?
thanks SOOO much!

8I am pretty sure that the bus from Rijeka to Ljubljana takes less than three hours. Two hours tops. Busses are more frequent too. Trains in this part of the world are SLOW. Bus is the way to go.
English is widely spoken in Croatia among the young. There is no need to be nervous. There were 10 million tourista visiting Croatia last year alone. As a lone woman traveler use any precaution you would if traveling in another european country.

10The last coach from Rijeka to Ljubljana leaves at 1700 (there are 2 more at 2am and 8.10am). Our poster is probably better off with the train, even if the bus does only take 2 hours and 22 minutes. In the opposite direction the 3 buses from Ljubljana to Rijeka leave at 0730, 1530 and 19.40 and take up to 2 hours and 40 minutes to get to Rijeka.
The bus station at Ljubljana lies directly outside the train station.
