Tibet Tour and looking for a group

Hello!
We're two travellers who are going to China the next month. We are preparing our travel. we are interested in a travel to Tibet. We want to do a trip in Tibet and arrive to the Everest Base Camp, but we see in the web that nowadays there are some problems in this region. how we can arrange our trip to Tibet? We're interested in a 9/10 days trip around the monasterys and finally arrive to EBC. How much does it cost approximately? Is the situation of Lhasa good? We can travel to Lhasa without a contracted tour and arrange in Lhasa or it's very dificult?
We plann to go there 26/07/07 . This date is approximately, if somebody wants to join us.

You still need to have some sort of tour booked for Tibet. I'd repost but use Tibet instead of China for country.

We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.
