HELP

Hi

I need some help with chinese visa info it seems a bit complicated.

Basically i want to fly to hong kong, enter china more or less sreight away for about 5 days with a double entry visa then go of into south east asia for about 3 months, after i will need to renter china to get back to hong kong, at first i thought it would be fine as i was entering china for only a few days then leaving and therefor invalidating one stay but would have a few months b4 having to use up the other stay (going back into china), but now i have been told that the first time i leave china i will only have 2 weeks to renter b4 my other entry also becomes invalid.

Any info would be apreciated

Thanks

Who told you that? I googled some visa websites that all said the same thing:

"Absolutely. Double-entry visa means you can enter into mainland of China twice within 90 days. Since you are going to the mainland of China twice, you must have a double-entry visa. Although being part of China, Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region."

But I even think it's wrong about the 90 days. Since they also say you have to enter China within 90 days of visa issuance. But the visa I got a couple of months back said it was valid for 6 months.

The issue is the length of validity of your visa. I think the standard these days is 90 days, but the person who told you about the "couple of weeks" problem may have had a short-validity visa. If you are applying in HK for your Chinese visa, you should get 90 days pretty routinely. (And the 90 days refers to the date of your re-entry to China the second time, not the date you then LEAVE China for the second time.)
