China to Nepal

Hi. I have a couple questions regarding my visa and areas of Nepal. I have a 30-day single entry visa for China, but I need to get this changed to a 30-day multiple entry visa. Is this possible to do once in China. If so, how long does it take, is it a difficult process, and what are the approximate costs? The reason I need this visa extended is because I plan to fly to Nepal and trek for 14 days around the Langtang region (it was a last minute decision). I also will be in need of a visa for Nepal, can I get this at the Kathmandu airport at any time of day?

I will be there from July 14th-July 27th. I understand that this is monsoon season in Tibet but from what I have heard and read, the Langtang region is in the rainfall shadow so it isn't as much of a problem?? Is this accurate? Also, has anyone been on a trek through Adventure Geo Treks Ltd? Are they a reliable agency?

Thanks!

Generally speaking you cannot change visas once issued and especially not once within China.

You have another problem, going from China (via Tibet or otherwise) to Nepal cancels your Chinese visa. The only way to leave Nepal for China is with a group visa via Tibet. Look on this site for a link to Losang's FAQs about Tibet for more information. (I would provide the link but I am not on my computer. )

For information about Nepal, check the Indian Subcontinent branch.

Since I have taken the time to answer your question, it would be nice if you took the time to respond as to whether the information was helpful.
