Since you are already booked, go and enjoy! It will only ruin your trip if you allow it to. If you are in the city, who cares? On the beach, you might be less indifferent to the rain. But in fact, it will not rain constantly, but in short bursts, soon over. A lot of it happens while you are asleep. Relax and go with the flow (I hope it doesn't rain THAT much!)

Well, it is the rainy season. Whether it ruins your trip or not depends entirely on what kind of a trip you're on. Beaches and a tan your priority? Bad luck. Are hard trekking, mud and leeches what you're looking for? The authentic jungle experience? Good luck :) That said, it'll probably not be raining all the time, maybe not even every day. And if it still gets too much move somewhere where it's not raining, pretty simple actually...

Gotta disagree with Henning - you would be real unlucky not to get your share of good beaching in July.
For a start, the southern Gulf Islands (Samui Tao Phangan) are usually well short of their normal Oct into Jan wet season.
And July is normally a lot nicer than Sept and Oct in most other areas.

I've got a fair bit of info on the wet season in the link below. Plus there are a heap of other posters' comments on the original wet weather thread which is in the FAQs sticky on top of page one of this branch.

Hi,
Ive been there for the last 2 years in July, the rain has not been that bad at all! Some days you get a down pour for an hour or so and others you get it for the day, but trust me, we are not used to the heat and the rain, believe it or not, was very welcomed for me!
I made the most of it, done things I wouldnt have done, as silly as it sounds! Swimming in a tropical storm is amazing, the rain is warm, the pool/sea are warm, walking around in the rain, with the locals looking at you like a wierdo, but laughing with you as they are cold, is a brilliant feeling! Definaly not something I would do over here!
I would recommend the rainy season, I really enjoyed it!
Also, rainy season is classed as their low season, so accomodation etc is is cheaper!
I hope you enjoy the country, I love it that much, I have plans to build a house in the nxt 3 years over there! Its beautiful, the people are beautiful, just have your wits about you and dont do anything that your gut has abit of bad feeling about, gut feelings are always right!
Happy and safe travelling!

We can do no great things, only small things with great love!
Peace!

I qualified my overly extreme examples with above sentence ;)
The whole post was a bit tongue- in- cheekish, I'll admit. Basically I wanted to say 'Go! Don't let the weather bother you!'
