Changing Visa Date

We got our visa in Hanoi for entry on the 25th of this month but we would like to leave for China before that - is there any way to change the dates on them? The security at the embassy in Hanoi wouldnt let people in unless you were picking one up or applying for one.

I'm not sure what passport you hold, but on a British passport when you are issued a 'L' tourist visa for China you have 90 days to enter. This countdown starts from the day the visa was issued. So a visa issued on 22 June means that the passport/visa holder has to enter China before 23 September or it expires.

So the fact that you told them 25th June doesn't matter. You can go earlier if you wish. Of course I'm not sure if you have a special type of visa or different rules apply for your passport.
