PÄRNU: the summer capital of Estonia?

I´ll visit Estonia in August, and I like to read some experiences about Pärnu.

It´s word visiting? Are the beaches pleasant for spending a few days?
Are the poeople nice?

My regards

The answer to a lot of your questions depends on the weather. If the sun is shining and it's warm then Pärnu is a gorgeous place to visit and spend a day just walking around and enjoying yourself. I wouldn't say there's enough to do for two days, unless you just want to spend a day at the beach but it would make a nice day trip from Tallinn (provided the weather is nice, of course).

People - they're like they are everywhere else, I would say. There are nice people and the not so nice ones. Overall I would say you definitely won't be bored for lack of company if that's what you're looking for since a lot of Estonians go to Pärnu during the summer - hence the "summer capital". I'm sure you'll have fun!

Enjoy your trip!

It only takes about 1,5 h to drive from Tallinn to Pärnu and the buses aren't that much slower either. You can use this website for bus timetables.

A pleasant town, worth an overnight visit. As a resort town it has a number of very good restaurants. There is a unique old area with narrow streets, which has the only bilingual (Estonian/Russian) street signs I saw in the Baltic Republics. The beach is long and wide, with a short walk from the center.
