Early AM VAT return at the new airport

Hey all,

Searched the forums and the Thai VAT info site but cannot seem to find any info on this question. I am headed to BKK for work in a few weeks and need to buy my wife a nice gift. I have done VAT return at the airport before, but this time my flight out is at 6:50am. I need to check in around 5am. Does anyone know if the customs office is open this early, and is the VAT return booth inside of security open that early? If not, any suggestions on now to claim VAT return?

Thanks for your help.

I was at the airport a couple of weeks back and cashed in my VAT refund at about 4:00AM. You might have to wake them up but they are there.

Thanks for the info. Were the customs clerks there as well (the folks who give you the stamp before going through passport control)? I am sure they will be napping on the job that early.
