Tour while in Krabi.

We wish to tour Phi Phi and 5 island tour while in Krabi. As we are pressed for time, we wish to do one day tour of Phi Phi island and the other one. Would some one having experience of these tours will recommend us way to go about or suggest tour company? From net we got Krabi Tours. How are they, what is the itinerary of both these tours and charges?
We believe, one can hire a long tail boat for Island tour. Is it possible? Which one to go for- either Speed boat or Long tail boat? Please suggest.

There are signs up outside travel agents, restaurants, accom places etc all around Railay/Ao Nang/Krabi town about the 5 island and 3 island tours. Usually you join a boat with other travellers. The cost is very reasonable although I can't remember how much. If the net says anything over 500 each, I would wait til I get there.
You can also charter your own longtail to do this - costs considerably more, but maybe not more per person if there are a lot of you. One place that has signs up for these individual charters is the longtail station at the northern end of Ao Nang main street beachside (where the sognthaews from Krabi town first hit Ao Nang's main street at the beach). Hell, they can even do a longtail to PP, but unless the seas are really benign, I would not do this for such a long trip.

I have seen the speedboats leaving Ao Nang for the PP trips, but I can't help you with prices. I think a fair few of these trips call in at Phra Nang beach near Railay to start with, visit gorgeous Bamboo or Mosquito islands off the ne corner of PP Don for beach/snorkelling, visit PP Ley for "The Beach" and birdsnest cave and spend beach/lunch time on PP Don.

I have a fair bit of general info on PP and the Krabi area in the second link below.

Depends on when you come here.. Now in the low "but amzingly sunny and clear for last few days" season a lot less boats are running tours. On Ko Lanta a longtail boat company operates all year- use google to find them, for an idea on pricing. As long as this weather we are having holds, you'll have no prob. finding a boat to take you out... enjoy your trip!

PS. Best to book once here.

My wife and I have many years experience of visiting Phi Phi. We visit Feb/Mar every year. The best advice I can give you is NOT to visit as a day trip. This little group of islands is still very special and needs at least a couple of days and certainly not one of these awful day trips. Try to make time for a few days......and don't stay too close to the Tonsai / Loh Dalum area. Pics and info on the links below.
