Train tickets from Lhasa to Xining

We will stay a few days in Lhasa and afterwards take the train to Xining. How difficult will it be to get sleeper tickets in July? We will go just 2-3 days before the horse festival in Jyekundo, will this make it even more difficult?

Is there a way to secure tickets before we arrive in Lhasa? As we will only arrive in Lhasa 3-4 days before taking this train, I don't want to see them all sold out.
