Chinese Visa Question

Hi all,

After much research on this thread, I still have a question concerning Chinese visas (for a U.S. citizen). The application form asks for "names, address, and phone no. of inviting organization of person in China." Is this ok to leave empty? Or do many people simply fill in the name of a hotel, even if they do not yet have reservations?

Thanks for the help!

Heidi : )

Fill in a hotel, although I've never seen anyone pay attention to it either way. No one checks.

My friend and I just got our visas last week. Neither of us gave an inviting organization. I even forgot some other info on my application about when and where we are going to be in China, but no problems.

#3, suggest you look at another website to pedal your wares.

OP. just put in the name of any hotel in you apprval port/city.

If there is no food, isn't that food for thought?
And if you are bored and want to know more about our Chinese teaching experience, there is our website to read.

I think the best way would be asking the Chinese embassy officer, just say"hi,can I leave this blank?"

And if he says no? Maybe the best way would be to research beforehand, like the OP is doing.

I left it blank (I'm British but i doubt it makes too much difference)

Also left ours blank. They were more picky about the Tibet mention, though.

We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

Is this an "L", tourist visa? If so, I applied for four and have left it blank each time with no problems. If you are travelling on another type, however, it can be very important.

Always looking for new adventures, new cultures, interesting geography.

Are you being invited for work or business? If not, and if you are simply touring.. Than you do not need to fill that out at al.. I would not suggest you put a hotel in there if you are simply touring. Thats just plain retarded.
