Looking for trekking partners for Tibet

Hello,

My wife and I are currently in Beijing, and plan to fly to Lhasa on June 14 or 15. Given the current difficulties with obtaining permits independently, have resigned ourselves to doing one or more tours. We have spoken to a few agencies in Beijing including CN Adventure, Windhorse Tour, and Leo's Hostel and all of these agencies seem to be able to obtain the required permits within 4 business days of application.

At the moment we would like to do the following, and in order to keep costs down are looking for 2 - 4 people to join us for the trip.

June 14 or 15 - fly into Lhasa
June 15-17 or 18 - in Lhasa
June 18 - 25 - standard EBC tour, including Gyantse, Shigatse, Rongphu, Everest
June 25 - July 1 or 2 - Trekking (e.g. Gamden to Samye, Tsurphu to Yangpachen, etc.)
July 2 or 3 - back to Lhasa and onwards from there (we will continue to Xi'an by train).

All of the companies listed above are able to offer the flight Beijing - Lhasa and the standard 8-day EBC tour without a problem. They all seem to come in at about USD 1000 per person for the tour only (flight is extra). Because we want to do some trekking as well, and because the cost to do a trek with only two people is quite high, we are looking for additional travellers to join us, either in Lhasa or Beijing.

If you are interested in the above, please let me know on plaszlo@yahoo.com or call me on my Beijing mobile 135 2252 8545.

Jenny, there are a lot of posts on this topic. I listed 3 of the most mentioned, which are CN Adventure, Windhorse Tour, and Leo's Hostel. You can easily get to their sites with google.

After doing our comparisons, and luckily finding another couple to share a landcruiser with, we've booked the EBC tour today with Windhorse, departing Lhasa on the 18th.

We are still looking for people to do a trekking trip starting in Lhasa on June 22nd or 23rd, so if you (or anyone else reading this post) would be interested, please let me know.
